What can you do to make a difference in your community?
Substance abuse prevention takes community involvement. Contact Drug-Free Action Alliance to receive more information about our programs and how you can help prevent substance abuse in your community. We will be happy to put you in contact with any of our partners to help you learn more and find out how you can help.
Parents
Research shows that parents are the greatest influence on their child's decision-making skills when it comes to substance use.
Drug-Free Action Alliance can help parents with the information and resources needed to talk to their children about alcohol, tobacco and other drug use. Know! is a program for parents of middle school aged children. "Parents Who Host, Lose The Most: Don't be a party to teenage drinking" helps parents of teenagers reinforce the message of alcohol-free parties. The Ohio Resource Network Clearinghouse can provide parents and youth with free materials on substance abuse prevention.
Educators
Drug-Free Action Alliance can provide educators with the latest information on substance abuse prevention with free materials available through the Ohio Resource Network Clearinghouse.
